Drilling Systems for Beams
Voortman offers various types of CNC controlled beam lines. They can be equipped with manual or automatic tool changers. Single spindle machines are offered for shops with limited floor space and can handle up to 40 inch beams. Multiple spindle units are also offered and have up to 3 spindles. They can handle up to 50 inch wide beams and up to twenty four inch flange height. Beam numbering units are also available as well as mitre cutting bandsaws that will run in tandem with the drill line. |

Beam Cambering
Horizontal beam cambering units are also available. They range in size from 330 ton up to 684 ton capacity. These units are capable of handling beams up to W36 x 485. |

Beam Coping Systems
The Voortman line also includes a 5 axis oxyfuel coping machine that is designed to cut I-beams, H-beams, channels, angles, rectangle tube and flat bar. The Voortman coper is capable of cutting the top and bottom flange and web of beams and columns. It can also do web and flange bevels. |

Sawing Machines
The heavy duty VB range of horizontal mitre cutting bandsaws was developed by Voortman and designed specifically for cutting structural steel. These saws are equipped with a PLC control, rapid advance device, motorized chip brush, and hydraulic clamping on both sides of the blade. They are designed to operate in tandem with the other Voortman beam and angle machines.

Flat and Angle Machines
The Voortman CNC angle and flat punch and shearing lines are used for high volume processing of plates and angles used for various applications in the structural steel industry. The flat processing machine uses 4 punch units and a flat plate shear with mitering capablity up to 45 degrees. The angle line uses 2 punching units and an angle shear. Angle capacity is up to 8 inch x 8 inch x 5/8 thick. Options such as numbering units can be added to these systems. |

CNC Plate, Punch and Drilling Systems
The automatic plate processing systems are designed to process heavy plate in excess of 2 inch thick. The operating table range is 40 inches x 55 inches. The CNC controlled machines can be equipped to punch, drill, tap, center point, deburr, and mark plates automatically. They can also be equipped with oxyfuel and plasma cutting capabilities. A parts marking system can also be integrated into the base machine frame. |

Stock Storage Systems
The stock storage system was designed for convenient storage of long material including flats, angle, and round tubing. The use of the Voortman storage system utilizes the available building height and uses a minimal amount of floor space to store material and maximize shop floor space. The material is stored in bins and the bins are automatically placed at outfeed stations to facilitate easy removal. |
